Central Ohio’s Premier Service and Repair Center for Saab Automobiles

Spyker's motto "…nulla tenaci invia est via — for the tenacious no road is impassable." has proved to be actions not mere words.

SPRING BREAK!  It’s time to drive with the top down.  Or, for the rest of us sunroof open, windows down, and blasting tunes while cruising the back roads on weekend getaways.  Is your Saab ready for the rigors of spontaneous travel?  Here’s a quick check list to keep you ready to roll at a moments notice.
Pop the hood and start with the fluid reservoirs, anti-freeze, brake, power steering, and windshield washer should be at the proper level.  If you have not flushed the anti-freeze or brake fluid within the last four years, have it done at your next oil change.  Check the oil; if its low, hasn’t been changed lately, or looks black (good oil is about the same color as single-malt scotch), its time to change the oil and filter.  It’s a waste of good oil to change it and leave the old filter on the car.

While you’re scanning the fluid levels, take a good look at the battery.  There might be a cover over it, which should lift off without too much trouble.  Are the terminals clean and smooth?  Do the cables have any rust, peeling covering, or frayed wires?  Move on to the hoses, clamps, and other visible wiring.  These should be smooth, firm to the touch, and free of grease and debris.  Even if you don’t think you know much about what’s under the hood, you’ll know if something doesn’t look right.

Put the hood down, check the wiper blades.  Are they over a year old?  It’s a good time to replace them.  Don’t spend a fortune.  All new blades work better than what’s on the car now.  Next time your are caught by a sudden Spring thunder storms, you’ll welcome the new wiper blades.  Are the tires properly inflated? How do those tire look?  Need help figuring out the tires?  Stop by and see us.  We’ll be happy to check the pressure and answer any questions about tires.  Check all you lights.  Don’t forget the license plate lights.  One of those out might mean a ticket.  Walk around the car with a critical eye.  Try looking at it as if you were about to buy it!  Ask a buddy, a Gear Head if possible, to look it over with you.
